BACKGROUND
Dr Brunello completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of Queensland in 2001. She commenced her anaesthetic training in 2004 working in both Brisbane and regional centres, and went on to receive her Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2010.
Dr Brunello then travelled to the UK working at St George’s Hospital, London as a Consultant Anaesthetist for a period, before returning to Brisbane. She now works in public practice as a Specialist Anaesthetist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and also in private practice at a number of private hospitals throughout Brisbane.
Dr Brunello has a varied practice which includes most surgical specialties. She has a particular interest in Hepatobiliary and Oncology surgery and in Major Orthopaedic and Revision Surgery, as well as post- operative pain management.
Over the last two years Dr Brunello has expanded her practice to include a perioperative anaesthetic clinic at the Wesley Hospital for all major orthopaedic joint replacement surgeries and major general surgeries. She is an advocate for individualised patient-based care, early medical assessment and planning prior to surgery.
Dr Brunello has an active role in the education of trainees.
OTHER INTERESTS
Outside of consulting, Dr Brunello enjoys spending time with her family and 4 children. She enjoys time away exploring and camping in the more remote areas of our country. She is also a keen mountain biker.
