SPECIAL INTERESTS IN ANAESTHESIA
Regional Anaesthesia for Orthopaedic surgery, Anaesthesia for Upper Gastrointestinal surgery.

BACKGROUND
Dr Chong completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Queensland and graduated with Honours in 1998. Following residency at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Logan Hospital, he started his training in Anaesthesia in 2001. He was awarded his Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2006. After completion of his specialist training, he joined the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Ipswich Hospital as a consultant Anaesthetist. Dr Chong has worked predominantly in private practice at most private Hospitals in Brisbane. He has been supported by Wickham Terrace Anaesthesia since 2007.

His practice revolves around a variety of surgical specialities including Orthopaedic surgery, General and Bariatric surgery, Gastro-enterology and Neurosurgery.

Dr Chong has served as the Chairman of Wickham Terrace Anaesthesia’s Executive Committee since 2019.

OTHER INTERESTS
Outside of medicine, Dr Chong enjoys fishing, bushwalking and photography, ideally combining all of these interests simultaneously.
